Haotian Shangdi, the highest God of the East, is known as Jehovah in the West. They have different titles yet are one divine entity. Tao and God merge into one, governing the universe with orderly precision; similarly, galaxies traverse their orbits without deviation.

The Purple Star reigns supreme in the sky, while other stars hold their celestial stations. The Southern Dipper marks coordinates, classifying all celestial bodies. In classical philosophy and theology, Tao possesses attributes; therefore, the five elements (metal, water, wood, fire and earth) embody truth and mystery.

Symbols of the four oceans and five continents each leave their mark. The green dragon soars in East Asia, the white eagle spans Europe and America, the brown bear roams the Arctic, the black and white penguin wanders the South Pole, and the lion king leaps across Africa.

Tao births all existence; civilizations rise from human endeavor. East and West harmonize have different and brilliant colors. Western humanities’ founder, Abraham, was a chosen son of Almighty God. Eastern humanities’ progenitors, Fuxi(伏羲) and Nvwa(女娲), were beloved by the divinity. Moses led his people out of Egypt, liberated them from bondage to freedom, bestowed the Ten Commandments and wrote the Five Classics, shaping divine civilization; Ji Chang (周文王) led his tribe from Mount Qishan, divided slaves into hundreds of surnames, unraveled the Eight Trigrams, scribed the Book of Changes(易经), kindling the I Ching civilization.

The Bible, God’s word, instills Western awe of divine authority; I Ching, God’s intent, guides Eastern reverence for natural laws. Praise and knowledge God were ancient China’s holiest belief; meanwhile, reverence Heaven’s God was ancient China’s noblest authority. God’s word was first etched in oracle bones, and found in Book of Changes, Book of Songs(诗经), and Classic of Mountains and Seas(山海经). Book of Changes states: “God comes from Zhen.” Zhen, thunder in the East, where China resides, is known as Shenzhou, a homeland of divinity. Shuowen (说文)defines God as the progenitor of all things.

Three millennia ago, Zhou emperors divided their realm, not just in lands and powers, but in rituals and beliefs. Shuoyuan(说苑) notes: “The emperor worships God, dukes and marquises honor myriad gods, while ministers and people can only revere ancestors.” Zhou’s Book of Rites (周礼)decrees: the populace honors ancestors alone. Such a hierarchy displeases God, as kings’ selfishness estranges divine favor, and ritual levels irk angels, blinding hearts with ghosts and demons.

God retreated, faith faltered, and people turned to ghosts and deities. Emperors ruled, scholars and officials, awed by power, feared the truth. Only the emperor was allowed to worship the Supreme Deity, resulting in widespread superstition among the populace. The emperor’s monopoly on power forced officials to both love and hate it. As the saying goes, “with money, one can make ghosts to work; with power, one can turn men to specters.” Totalitarianism rises, morals wane, and envy and fear of power spread. Meanwhile, imperial power expands to the sky, human rights dwindle on the ground, and populace covets and resents power.

In B.C., China lost God, arrogant dragons became Heaven’s sons; The Han and Tang periods saw the East turn to immortals, Buddha, and saints courting scholars’ quests. Laozi, the sage of Tao Te Ching , Confucius, the sage of Six Classics, could research the Tao’s truth but were not allowed to worship God. Confucius warned: “Respect ghosts and gods, yet keep your distance,” wary of kings’ edicts. Three millennia, the yoke sacrifice endured until the fall of Qing; however, dynastic sway still echoes today.

In 485 B.C., the world was in chaos, and Laozi left the Hangu Gate of the Great Wall, causing Tao’s truth to fade westward. In the Warring States period, the dynasty was in disarray, philosophers’ debates without God’s righteousness, and deceit was sown in the East. In A.D., in the west, the Son of God was crowned King of King and Lord of Lords. In A.D. 30, Jesus Christ was crucified on the cross, absolving the world’s sin and cleansing people’s souls.

The great Tao cycles endlessly, and the ebb and flow of yin-yang persist throughout time. In the future, we believe that God will return to China, his place of first appearance. From now on, our nation should restore faith in God, for we were a favored people at the beginning of our history.

Once our hearts embrace God’s righteous faith, ignorance will fade; when the nation follows the righteous path, prosperity will bloom.
